Overall Opinion:
Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum sets out to hydrate and plump up the delicate skin on your face and neck—and it does just that! As a hydrating face serum, it delivers on all of its claims to keep your skin moisturized, healthy-looking, and plumps it up like no other serum on the market.
As a serum you use just once daily in the morning, it also promises to act as a makeup primer. I found that not to be the case, and still used a makeup primer whenever I applied my makeup. Despite that, however, Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum is super easy to use and incorporate into your morning skincare routine.
While the hydrating results are undeniable, it does take longer to see the plumping results it promises, and it’s a more expensive hydrating face serum on the market. It delivers on its claims, but with the amount of product you need to use to actually see results, it’s difficult to justify the serum’s high price tag.
This may be a great option for anyone struggling to combat dry skin, but there are plenty of more affordable options on the market that will give you the same results in a similar, or even shorter, time frame.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum has a very average face serum consistency. However, I did find that I needed two pumps of the product, instead of the usual one, to cover both my face and neck.
Once the product had been applied to my skin, it felt very comfortable and moisturizing. I could tell right off the bat that it was a hydrating face serum!
It does leave behind a pretty oily/greasy residue on your face and neck, even after the serum dries, but it doesn’t impact the application of your other skincare products, and it didn’t make my makeup oily either, which is great!
Application
The application for Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum is really easy. To begin with, I thought it was super interesting that they market it specifically to be used underneath your makeup, almost like a makeup primer.
While it didn’t impact the wear of my makeup by making my face more oily than normal, I don’t think that it does the job of a makeup primer. My makeup didn’t last longer or look more flawless from using this serum versus other good face serums I’ve tried.
Since this is called the “Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum” I only used this serum once daily, in the morning, on clean, dry skin. If you’re supposed to use it twice daily, that definitely wasn’t specified in the directions.
It also says to use it under your moisturizer or in lieu of your moisturizer, but I chose to use it as a serum instead of a moisturizer, and layer my other products on top of it.
The other products were really easy to apply on top, as well, so overall, this was a really easy face serum to incorporate into my morning skincare routine.
Drying Time
Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum has a pretty average dry time for a face serum. About 30 seconds after I applied the face serum, it felt dry enough to apply my other face products on top.
This serum leaves behind a greasy feeling on your face, so it never feels totally absorbed into your skin, but at 30 seconds, you can tell the serum isn’t as wet anymore.
Smell
I really enjoyed the smell of Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum. Surprisingly, it doesn’t actually smell like honey at all. It has more of a sweet, floral smell to it. The odor is very high-end, as well, and smells like something you’d find in a spa.
The smell isn’t overpowering, which is nice, but it’s definitely noticeable! It does dissipate when you apply your other products, on top, however, which is always nice!
Immediate Results
I normally try new face serums out at night first, but since this face serum is intended for morning use only, I had to take a risk and wear it all day long first! My initial thought when applying the serum was that it was super hydrating and comfortable to wear, which were encouraging signs!
Besides that, there weren’t any real “immediate” results. I wasn’t battling against dry skin when I started using this face serum, so there wasn’t really anything for it to heal. But I also didn’t experience any dry skin either, which is definitely a plus!
Long Term Results
Overall, Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum definitely delivers on its hydrating claims. My skin felt very moisturized while using this face serum, and I didn’t experience any dry skin anywhere on my face while using this.
I also think it helped plump up my face like no other serum has done before. A few people even asked me if I’d gotten injections underneath my eyes and cheeks (which I definitely didn’t!). So that was really nice to experience that youthful look and natural contouring to my face.
Beyond that, I didn’t experience any other results, but I didn’t expect to with a hydrating face serum!
Price/Value
While Hey Honey Honey Silk Facial Serum absolutely delivers on its hydrating claims, I don’t think this face serum is worth the money. It’s definitely on the more expensive end of the market as far as serums go, and I don’t think the results justify the price.
You also have to use more product than many other face serums I’ve tried, so I don’t think a bottle will last you very long. And while the hydrating and plumping benefits definitely aren’t deniable, there are other face serums on the market at cheaper price points that perform just as well as this one does.
Guarantee
Hey Honey offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all products purchased through their website. I definitely think this is a fair return policy because you’ll be able to tell before then if the serum is working well for your skin or not.
