Overall Opinion:

While Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum may deliver phenomenal results in the anti-aging department, that’s sadly not something I’ll ever use this product long enough to find out.  After just three days of incorporating the serum into my daytime and nighttime skincare routine, I suffered a major breakout that has taken more than a week to combat.

I began to see skin congestion after the first use, but wasn’t sure if it was related to the serum itself.  However, after each use, the congestion worsened, making it impossible to continue using it.

This product isn’t all bad, of course.  It’s super easy to incorporate into both daytime and nighttime skincare routines, and doesn’t come with any offensive odor or overpowering residue.  And the horrible reaction I experienced may not happen to everyone who uses this serum.

In my opinion, however, it’s best to stick to a different anti-aging serum altogether than risk having this happen to your skin, too.

Detailed Opinion:

Texture/Feel
The texture of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum is really average, so there aren’t any surprises there.  It leaves behind a slick, borderline greasy residue on your face, which makes it really easy to layer your other face products on top of.

However, the greasy aspect of the serum doesn’t come through when worn under makeup, which is a definite plus for this face serum!

Application
Mad Hippie is really easy and straightforward to apply.  Simply cleanse and dry your skin, and apply a pea-size amount all over your face both morning and night.

Once the serum has absorbed into your skin, apply any other face products you use daily.  This serum seamlessly worked into both my daytime and nighttime skincare routine as it was easy to layer my other products, and it didn’t change the look or wear of my makeup during the day.

Drying Time
Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum has an average dry time of about 30 seconds.

Smell
For the most part, Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum is odorless, but if you want to be super specific about it, it does have a very slight “clean” scent.

I personally don’t think it’s an odor that would bother anyone since it smells like a mild soap, and again, you really have to sniff the product directly to smell it, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned it.

Immediate Results
As I do with almost every new face serum I try, I used Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum at night first, and didn’t have any initial thoughts about incorporating the serum into my nighttime skincare routine.  However, when I woke up the next morning, I could tell that I had some congestion on my nose and chin that I hadn’t had the night before.

For the most part, I just saw blackheads initially, but there were also a few spots on my chin and cheeks that looked like they could turn into zits.  So I was a bit worried, but continued to use the face serum for the next 72 hours.

Long Term Results
I definitely shouldn’t have continued using Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum after my initial experience that first night.  After using the serum for three days, my face completely broke out.  I had an insane amount of blackheads on my nose, and full-blown zits covering my chin and cheeks.

The blemishes on my chin didn’t take long to go away, but the acne on my cheeks is sadly hanging around.  And the spots are nothing small—I’m talking major underground zits that are both ugly and painful.  After discontinuing use of the serum for a week, those spots still aren’t fully gone.

So while this may be a great anti-aging face serum, there’s no way I could continue using it after this breakout!  There is clearly something in the ingredient makeup that is a horrible match for my skin, and I refused to continue using it after those first three days.

Price/Value
While Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum is definitely affordable, especially considering the small amount of product needed daily, it’s definitely not worth the money.  I’m not sure what ingredient(s) in the serum made me have such an awful breakout, but no serum is worth doing that to your skin, even if it does provide anti-aging results!

Sadly, I wasn’t able to use it long enough to see if anti-aging results could even be achieved with Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum, but I know there are plenty of other anti-aging serums that won’t cause your skin to breakout on the market, so for that reason, this serum isn’t worth the money in my opinion.
